It's Been a Great Year!

We are all done with our Open House Sundays and the Farm Art D'Tour event at our little schoolhouse and Farm Museum for 2022. But I have to tell you, HTHS's participation in the Farm Art D’Tour has ended but we had an absolutely wonderful time with all our visitors out there at our little white schoolhouse. Our weekends were packed with people and the positive comments we heard from our visitors about our little paradise here were just heartwarming. Though we were working our tails off to make everybody feel at home, there was this wonderful sense of peace and calm in it all. The surroundings at our little school and museum just seems to do that for everybody. I can’t really explain it, it’s just so beautiful out there in that farm country setting. Ha ha, maybe it was the Amish pies, BBQ, Chili dogs and Grandma Mary’s Apple Cider Doughnuts we had to offer! Whatever it was, we sure had fun. If you didn’t get to see it, watch for our Open House events that will begin next year around the end of May. (It will be posted here and on Facebook.) It won’t be as extravagant as it was during the Farm Art D’Tour, but that feeling will still be there, and there’s still plenty to see. I can still see those new comers who entered our little school for the first time and stopped dead in their tracks, mouth hanging open and finally gathered themselves to voice a whisper of “Wow, this is amazing!”

And if that's not enough, we have a Farm Museum and Farm Kitchen that host many, many farm implement tools and ole time kitchen items for you to think about. How did they do that?

We want to thank the nearly 130 people we had on our list of volunteer helpers. I still can’t believe that many people were willing to help us out. You are all SO much appreciated!! We are not sure how well we did financially yet, but we are sure it was very good, and that you volunteers were a big part of it. We could not have done it without all of you who were there to help us!! So, if you are reading this, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!! Its’ so nice to know we have so much support behind what we are doing to keep this little hidden treasure open for all to take a step back into the past and learn what it was like to go to a one room schoolhouse. And it is a treasure! Come see for yourself someday next spring of 2023!!  Watch for the dates to be posted here.

Here's where all the fun will be....
